In-service days are set to continue to develop our educators and our curriculum. On these days we may have specialty classes open to salon professionals. If nothing is listed it is a educator development day and the Academy will be closed to clients and students.
Molly Finster grew up in a small town in Minnesota with the desire and passion to find a career in hair like her older sister. First she felt like she needed to attend 4 year university. After one year in college, Molly realized she couldn’t put off hair any longer. She used the change to move west to Oregon. Molly started as a receptionist at a salon spa to test the waters and she loved it. She attended Phagans Salon Academy and got her license as a hair stylist in 2007. After beauty school she took an apprenticeship at Annastasia Salon under Sandie Griffith for six months and has been working at Annastasia’s ever since. “We are so lucky to have found Molly. I met her after doing a demo at Phagan’s. She came to the salon ready to rock. She was inspired, excited and prepared to do well. She loved her instructors and it was obvious they helped her. I am proud to say she has grown her business in a big way. She has grown her income more than $7,000 every year since joining us in 2007. Her best service month is over $9,000!”
Graduating in 2015 and receiving her licenses in Hair design and Esthetics Erica immediately went to work for Ensemble Salon et. Spa in West Linn, OR. Erica spends her off time enjoying the outdoors and visiting the fashion and salon industry shows around the west coast. As a stylist and artist she has found a Salon utilizing the Summit Salon Business Center which focuses on developing each stylist to become their best both in the fashion industry and within their personal lives. Growing their income and training them to become the top service providers in the country.
Mariesa Blackwell started out as a salon receptionist in 2004 and fell in love with the creative art of doing hair. She attended Phagans beauty school in 2006. She continued her education by completing the associate training program at Annastasia Salon under Sandie Griffith. Mariesa has become a Leadership Team member at the salon as well as a BFF mentor to new stylists going on the floor. Mariesa said “I loved my instructors and Phagan’s. They really cared about us and would do anything to help us. My year at Phagan’s was a great start to my career. I have even gone back to the school and done demo’s and classes I loved it so much!” Mariesa has had tremendous success behind the chair. She has given herself over a $5000 a year raise every year making over $40,000 in only 4 years.
